Windows 7 Build 69xx Screenshots

The excitement over getting my first post-M3 builds of Windows 7 is dimmed somewhat by the fact that there are no obvious hidden new features included in any of them. Yes, there are some colorful new wallpapers, and of course the new Windows 7 taskbar is completely up and running this time around. Some hidden M3 features--like the desktop slideshow feature--are simply missing in action in these builds. All that said, the three post-M3 builds I've seen are stable and appear to be near-feature-complete. And they have reinforced my contention that Microsoft will be able to ship this new OS far more quickly than most people realize. I'm now expecting to see Windows 7 finalized by April 2009, alongside Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Here are some shots of these recent builds. Enjoy.
