Windows 7 Build 7032 ScreenshotsOver the past several weeks, I've seen and used a number of post-Beta Windows 7 builds including build 7032 (depicted here and dating from January 30, 2009), build 7044 (dated February 13), and build 7048 (dated January 19). Alas, I do not have direct access to the latter two builds. But I do have build 7032, which isn't much different. As with all Windows 7 builds, the changes in this build are incremental and subtle. Build 7032 adds a new Control Panel icon and ton of new wallpapers, which have been added to new themes such as Architecture and Characters. But that's about it. Missing from this build, curiously, is Device Stage, which worked fine in the Beta (build 7000). I hope that doesn't mean Device Stage is being removed from Windows 7. After all, Microsoft said it wouldn't over-promise with this version. Looking ahead to those 704x builds, I've seen a few changes since 7032. The big one is that Internet Explorer is now removable, though it's unclear if this is for testing purposes or a premanent change. There are also a few new icons--for Paint, Sticky Notes, and Calculator--but little else. Given the small number of changes between builds at this point, an April release for the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) isn't just likely, it's conservative.
