Microsoft Lync 2010 Comes to iPhone, iPad

rating: (15)

It's official, folks: Hell has frozen over and TripAdvisor is selling tickets to an ice-skating party on Beelzebub's swimming pool. A week after a slew of Microsoft mobile apps were released for iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android, the software giant today released versions of its Lync 2010 client for both the iPhone and iPad.

As with the Windows Phone and Android versions, Lync 2010 for iPhone and Lync 2010 for iPad are free but require an on-premise Lync 2010 Server or Lync Online, part of Office 365. And for whatever it's worth, though I've been clamoring for this kind of Microsoft mobile apps availability for several months now, I mean, wow. It's kind of strange to see it actually happen. I guess I'm just accustomed to seeing my recommendations ignored. :)

And when they make office available they need to release it with a commercial like this ( I am borrowing Paul's mantra on apps and systems)

"Why would you by a program that "kind of" works like the number one Office apps.
(Show pictures of pages, numbers, other crappy office apps)
When you can have the number one Office apps, Microsoft would like to present the only real choice for mobile productivity applications.

Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are now available for IOS and Andriod
{screen fads to text saying "Game over, We win!"}"

That would be the microsoft of old god I miss them....
